Waiting for the Train
29/11/2017
An evening of things new! I'd not met writer and director Pip Rolls before and I'd not been to the Riddell Memorial Hall in Walton On The Hill before. Both were charming.
Waiting for the Train is a gentle kind of play and trips along like a suburban train. That's not to say that it's devoid of emotion or surprise. It covers a series of interwoven stretches all set on a railway platform on the rural outskirts of London. Set in the 40 years from the 1930s the characters and the station itself evolve and change in a fascinating way.
Performed by The Gage Players it's on at the Riddell Memorial Hall until 2nd December.
